Spring 09

My new improved raised veg bed is now being built. This was how i originally wanted it to be but for some reason the ex thought the square structure would work better. *cough*



Once it was filled with earth i pushed the old plastic windows from the greenhouse down so inside so that watering didnt soak into the blocks. They are dense ones so maybe they are ok,i dont know.

Round about the same time ther Maples were coming down we revealed the mess they had made. When i moved here 20 years ago the wire fencing was already up and the trees had grown into the wire and pushed forwards. I spent years trying to contain them and failed so it became a matter of working round them. It was alwmost impossible to work out where my garden started. One tree had grown around a concrete post!, swallowed it!


I thought it important to show my garden in all its glory so that others can see that its not impossible to make it look better.

The garden behind mine had cut the end off and used it to put chopped down branches from an old tree so it was impossible to get to the base of the maples to cut them down. But i think we have managed to kill the remaining stumps now, fingers crossed.
